2008 Gibson Thunderbird IV Nikki Sixx Signature Model - "Blackbird" - Satin Cherry w/ OHSC
2008 Nikki Sixx 'Blackbird' Signature Model based on the iconic Thunderbird shape featuring a neck-thru construction with AAA Maple wings and multiply Mahogany & Walnut neck delivering articulation and thunderous lows.
34" scale length, ebony fingerboard, murdered-out hardware and two humbucking pickups with 3-way selector & master volume and tone controls.
The Nikki Sixx Blackbird also features a unique piece of hardware called the 'Opti-Grab' (A reference to the 1979 Steve Martin/Carl Reiner movie 'The Jerk') which its original purpose seems to be for optimal anchoring of the right hand for "precise bridge-picking techniques". We reckon it's a great little spot to wrap your guitar cable through so you don't yank it out on stage - but each to themselves.
Made in Nashville, USA.
Includes original Gibson hard shell case, original strap lock buttons and bridge (which has been upgraded to a Babicz full contact). Also tastefully modded with the Gotoh GB7 'Bass Extender', essentially Gotoh's version of the Hipshop D-Tuner, allowing you to drop from Standard Tuning to Drop D with a flick of the lever (Nikki would approve). 1 x screw missing from the 'Opti-Grab' loop.
